Ria is upset when she encounters a fox hunt when out in the country with Ben. She determines to mount a protest.
Adam's girlfriend leaves him because he is boring. Ria meets Leonard, who is out jogging in the park.

Ria has decided that her life is an untidy drawer full of people who bother her. In the effort to tidy it she finds it difficult to part with some people.
A work of art has an effect on the whole family. Father and son are drawn closer, and Ria finds it hard to ignore Leonard's existence.
All Leonard wants is for Ria to have lunch with him on his birthday. All Ria wants is excitement. Ben wants nothing in particular but benefits from all their needs.
It is time for Ria to break away from the family. But as the provider, Ben's ego is at stake, so the tug of war begins.
Ben and Russell decide to talk after a year of silence. It is not as happy an experience as Ria would have wished. She has also lied to Leonard about her age.
Ria has enough to cope with: there is her husband Ben, who has his own hang-ups and her sons Adam and Russell, who are the cause of most of them. Then suddenly there's Leonard.
