There are some very unexpected consequences when the Fox girls arrive in England.
The Fox women attend a service on a conferencing platform for the late Uncle Harold before Sam gains her British citizenship at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
Annoyed that the girls are on their phones too much, Sam demands that they give them up for a week. Max asks Rich to tell Sam about a secret they have been keeping from her.
Sam travels to San Francisco to direct an episode of her friend Ron's sit-com, leaving Max to look after Duke and visit Pepper.
Sam persuades her reluctant girls to give up their Saturday evenings to visit their grandmother but wishes she hadn't bothered when Phil brings out an old photo album.
Phil is encouraged to contact an old boyfriend on Facebook. Sam tries to keep calm when Marion gives her financial advice, and Duke is going through some teenage angst.
Max is grateful for Rich's unquestioning support. Sam tries her hand at volunteer reading in a sixth grade class, and Xander brings Duke home after their vacation together in Mexico.
Sam's day starts with a shoot-out at the supermarket and doesn't get much better when she learns Phyllis has been scammed. Things improve when she makes a decision about work.
A busy day for Sam has her helping Max find an apartment, visiting the genealogist with her brother Marion and being a shoulder to cry on for best friend Rich.
